Summer Camp (Beginner)
Your entry into the world of drones with coding and drone racing
The summer camps of the DroneMasters Academy open up playful access to digitalization and aerodynamics by means of drones and drone racing. Children and young people between the ages of 10 and 15 learn how to handle age-appropriate drone systems in our four- and five-day workshops. Under the guidance of experienced trainers and coaches, they are taught how to fly on sight and with video goggles, how to program drones and how to handle them safely.
Already since 2017, the vacation courses of the DroneMasters Academy have given children and young people access to a future-oriented technology. In the process, drones offer a unique introduction to other topics such as 3D printing and programming, providing insights into new technical career fields.
We host our workshops during the school vacations.
Workshops during the summer vacations run over five days, those during other vacations over four days.

The DroneMasters Academy Summer Camps aim to get children and young people excited about drone technology. They will be introduced to the basic physics of flying, learn about the structure and technology of drones and fly their own final race. In all areas of the workshop, the juniors are encouraged to contribute their own ideas and solutions. We place special emphasis on developing technical skills and understanding how to build simple electronic circuits. The courses cover several important areas of learning in mathematics, computer skills, science and technology (STEM). This knowledge is taught in a fun and age-appropriate way.
The workshop program takes place between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. each day. Supervision of the participants is provided from 9 am to 5 pm.
The DroneMasters Academy summer camp begins with a relaxed introduction to the world of drones. Your Academy instructors will give you an overview of aerodynamics and the components of rotor systems. Then, you'll examine the structure and electronics of drones and learn about the legal and safety basics of aviation. At the end of the first day, you will fly your first test flight on sight.
More basics, more flying. In addition, you will be familiarized with the programming of drones. To quickly gain flight experience, you will be intensively supported by the Academy trainers and can train on the flight simulator.
Everyone discovers their own preferences in dealing with drones. Be it flying on sight, on the simulator or block-based programming. Those who already have the drones well under control can put on video goggles and fly with first-person view.
It' s all about training. In preparation for the final course the next day, you will train intensively with the drone and on the simulator. Your Academy trainers are close by and will support you with tips and tricks about drone flying.
Today it's going to be racy. You can show everyone the flying skills you've acquired during the week! But first, you'll get a quick introduction to the basic rules and behavior of drone flying. When flying through the final course, all your skills will be required. Finally, everyone will be awarded for their achievements with the official DroneMasters Academy certificate.
The program is intended to provide an exemplary flow of the course. Depending on the weather and the interests and progress of the participants, the focus on specific content may vary. The four-day courses convey the same knowledge in a condensed form.
