Build your own FPV copter
In this DroneMasters Academy course you build your own FPV drone with our support. First Person View (FPV) lets you fly your drone through video goggles and take in an extraordinary perspective.
In this course we will build, program and set up your first copter together. No previous experience is required. You will be guided through every step and can ask questions and get advice at any time.
The drone is a 5" quadcopter, put together specially for this course, that can reach speeds of up to 130 km/h. As well as building the copter, you learn about repair and maintenance.
The aim is for you to get going straight away with your finished copter and everything you have learned, and make your dream of flying come true!
Format: 2 days on site + 1 online briefing
Who it is for: 16 years and up, no previous experience required
Group size: maximum 6 people
Course fee: 950 euros
Material costs: approx. 1,200 euros (not included in the course fee)
Participants receive a detailed parts list before the course starts so they can order the components themselves. We are happy to help with the order once you have registered.

What to expect:
- How is an FPV drone built?
- Drone regulations and rules for flying, plus a look at future legislation
- Handling LiPo batteries correctly
- Crash course in soldering circuit boards
- Crash course in electrical engineering
- Building the copter completely, from the first screw to the last propeller
- Programming the drone and the remote control
- Experience, tips and tricks from 4 years of intensive flying, training and international races
Your trainer:
This course is run by one of our trainers, who is an active drone racer and has designed and built plenty of copters.
On site:
On site, the course usually takes place on Saturdays and Sundays from 09:00 to 17:00.
Online:
The online courses are run via the video conferencing system. Participants can interact directly with the trainer.
The course consists of seven sessions of 90 minutes each. The sessions take place on weekdays from 17:00 - 18:30. Afterwards there is a chat for any further questions.
Materials:
Before the first session, all participants receive a list of the materials they need. These have to be ordered individually; links to the products are provided. The material costs come to approx. 500 euros and cover all the parts needed to complete the course and then fly on your own afterwards (copter parts, tools, video goggles, remote control). Equipment you already own does not, of course, need to be bought again.
