Philipp Horstmann is a trained mechatronics technician and a qualified mechanical engineer (M.Sc.). During his apprenticeship he learned hands-on how to handle, maintain and build technical and electronic systems, and he deepened that technical knowledge further during his degree. As a result he has gathered extensive experience in the design, calculation and realisation of prototypes and is trained in producing technical drawings and 3D models. For more than six years Philipp has been working on the construction, control and programming of multicopters – an environment that calls for constantly teaching yourself new knowledge and skills. He follows the ongoing developments in hardware and software closely and feeds them into his projects.

As an FPV pilot, Philipp has already flown in many drone races and is happy to pass his skills on to up-and-coming pilots. His particular passion is freestyle flying with self-built racing drones, which produces fantastic images.
